Your name is the business: a site for Canadian actors, authors and speakers
A casting director in Vancouver types your name. A book club in Kamloops wants an author visit. A conference in Halifax needs a speaker by spring. Each of them lands in the same place: whatever shows up when they search for you.
Too often, that is an old page with a dead link, or a profile on someone else's site. It does not sound like you. It does not let anyone book you.
When your name is the business, your website should feel like you. That is the idea behind our Talent starter.
One person, front and centre
Most business sites are built around a company. This one is built around a person. You are the brand, so the home page leads with you.
The starter has room for:
- Your story. A bio in your words, not a template.
- Your work. Roles, books, talks or shows, with the titles and years you give us. We never add a credit you did not earn.
- Your press. Only the articles and clips you choose to share.
- Ways to book you. A clear path for the sessions or visits you really offer.
You can see the starter on our Talent starter page. The sample person there is made up. Some tools you see are not part of a Launch. Your Launch list says what is.
Set up with you, live
The starter code is free. Anyone can copy it for $0. A Launch is when we build it with you.
A Launch is $2,500 CAD plus GST, paid once. You get two hours on a live call with one of our people. If you want each one, we set it up and test it with you:
- Booking. Your Google or Microsoft calendar, linked. Your session types and hours added. One real test booking made.
- Payments. Fees for coaching, readings or talks go into your own Stripe, PayPal or Square account. We never hold your money.
- A client portal. Clients sign in with a code we email them. They see their bookings, invoices, quotes and files.
- One contact list. Every form, booking and sale becomes a contact. We bring in the contacts you have.
- A shop, if you sell. Signed books, prints or tickets, listed and paid into your own account.
A chat box is there too, if you like. It only answers from facts you approve.
Your site keeps up with your life
Careers move fast. A new role lands. A tour gets added. A book comes out in paperback. You should not have to email a web person and wait a week.
After Launch, you change your site by telling it what you want. Type it in plain English, like a text. "Add my new play to the work page, with the dates." Or "put my Victoria reading on the events page." The site makes the change. This is called vibe coding, and you make one real change this way on the call, with us beside you.
For small edits, we show you the visual editor. Click a sentence or a photo, and change it right there.
It belongs to you
Your site runs in your own Replit account. We charge $0 a month. Your host bills about $20 US a month for use. That is the host's bill, in US dollars. Our prices are in Canadian dollars. You can have us host it for $19 CAD plus GST a month instead. You own the code, and you can leave with a full copy any time.
We are based in Vancouver, so we know the rhythm of a city where people work on set one month and on a book the next. Your site should handle both.
